Installing the Forssell Technologies Inc replacement board will provide the following improvements over the stock EQ:
  1. Removal of the vacuum tube electronics reduces heat and reliability problems. This replacement is a good idea if you find yourself primarily using the JFET circuitry of your EQ. If you find that you often use the vacuum tube circuitry on the EQ, then you probably should not install this upgrade PCB.
  2. Removal of zener diode limiters placed on the output of the stock unit.
  3. Removal of the JFET muting circuit at the output of the stock unit.
  4. Balanced input standard (instead of optional).
  5. Input mode can be switched between balanced or single-ended from front panel.
  6. True hardwire bypass of all active circuitry when the unit is switched out.
  7. Amount of maximum boost/cut is set by internal jumpers from +/- 18dB, +/-12 dB, or +/10 dB (high range), and +/- 10 dB or +/- 6 dB (low range).
  8. Vastly improved power supply treatment and bypassing results in improved sonic quality with silkier highs, more robust and cleaner mid-range, and deeper more extended lows.
  9. Uses the latest generations of Forssell Technologies Inc improved Class A discrete JFET operational amplifiers.
  10. Main amplifiers are on plug-in sockets for easy upgrade and serviceability.
  11. Surface mount components using the latest thin-film and tantalum-nitride resistors for highest quality sonic performance.
